Plot

Highly successful novelist Agatha ‘Aggie’ Wiggs saw her life completely shatter after the tragic death of her eight-year-old son, Cooper. Several years later, she still suffers from writer’s block and grief as she works on her next book.

But as soon as Nile Jarvis moves into the house next door, everything changes. For years, authorities and the public have suspected Nile of killing his first wife, Madison—a powerful real-estate agent who vanished under mysterious circumstances. While investigators were never able to secure his conviction, numerous people believe that he is responsible.

Aggie falls in love with Nile’s story and wants to write a book about him. She starts talking to him and digging up his past so that she can find out what is going on with Madison’s disappearance. As she makes her way, she befriends an old FBI agent named Brian Abbott who worked for several years to expose the Jarvis family.

But as Aggie delves into the truth, she uncovers corruption, family secrets, political influence, and murder. As she gets to know more about the mystery, it only gets more perilous. The series is a psychological thriller, a tale of grief, obsession, revenge and justice, but also a story of love and loss, and a crime thriller.
