Pushpa 2: The Rule Plot
The movie continues right at the place Pushpa: The Rise left off. Pushpa Raj has come out of being a mere labourer to the unquestioned leader of red sandalwood smuggling in Seshachalam forests. The arrogance, the rebelliousness and his lack of submission before anyone, has turned him to be a legend in the world of crime. As the plot unfolds, Pushpa resolves to venture out of the country with his business and seeks to strike a colossal business agreement with an overseas customer called Hamid. Saurabh Sachdeva plays Hamid, who seeks the largest red sandalwood consignment ever.
Pushpa balances this high-stakes game while confronting a multi-pronged war. His old arch-rival, SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, returns with a vicious plan to take him down. He also has old enemies such as Srinu and Dakshayani who plot to have him dethroned by the syndicate.
To put another emotional touch upon, his older brother’s family goes through a crisis that involves Pushpa in a very personal conflict. There is also the desire by Pushpa who wishes to place his loyalist Bhumireddy Siddappa Naidu as Chief Minister and through his muscle and witty political game playing. The essence of Pushpa 2 is that it is a movie about a man who does not allow the world to clarify or undermine him, and who transforms any effort to undermine him into fuel on a more majestic rise.
Pushpa 2 Cast and Roles
Here’ s a quick overview of the roles played by Pushpa 2 cast.

- Rashmika Mandanna plays the role of Srivalli, the wife of Pushpa, who starts the film in melodramatic land but only comes out in the second half with a more depth of emotion.
- Fahadh Faasil returns as SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, the obsessive, relentless police-officer who has turned his mission in destroying Pushpa.
- Jagapathi Babu stars in the role of Kesava and Rao Ramesh as Bhumireddy Siddappa Naidu, a political puppet of Pushpa.
- Sunil stars as Mangalam Srinu, Anasuya Bharadwaj as Dakshayani.
- Ajay plays the role of Molleti Mohan Raj, who goes on to mock Pushpa about his illegitimate birth.
- Saurabh Sachdeva acts as the international client in smuggling, Hamid.

Reviews and Ratings
Much division of the critics and audiences was mostly unanimous in their reviews, but the commercial supremacy of the film was hard to deny. On IMDb the movie has a rating of 6.1 out of 10 with more than 66, 000 ratings. Bollywood Hungama rated it 4.5 out of 5 stars, calling it a wildfire entertainer. Sukumar’s direction expertly steers the plot with drama, action, emotion, and swag.
The review highlighted the sequel’s Pan-India treatment as more prominent than the original’s. The critics in Rotten Tomatoes have recognized it as an expansive and luxurious action sequel giving spectacle a grand scale. Critics praised Allu Arjun’s screen presence in the Jathara sequence and the film’s action choreography.
Negative critics raised several concerns. They noted the screenplay failed to progress significantly beyond the first part’s ending. Additionally, many felt the movie underutilized Fahadh Faasil, as his threatening cop character became a caricature in the latter half. Reviewers condemned the 90s-style portrayal of a female character’s harassment.
Standout Moments and Music
The Jathara sequence – an enormous visual spectacle scene – became the most discussed set-piece in the movie, with its visual spectacle, background music and crowd-satisfying uplift, literally leaving viewers out of breath. Devi Sri Prasad’s background score intensified each dramatic and action scene to its peak emotive effect. The film already released the song Pushpa Pushpa ,prior to its release on 1 May 2024.
What Comes Next Controversy
The movie was not released without controversies. A deadly stampede at a premiere took place on 4 December 2024 in Hyderabad, leading to the death of one person with severe injuries. Allu Arjun was later arrested by the Hyderabad City Police and granted interim bail on behalf of the Telangana High Court. The post-credits scene hinted at a third installment titled Pushpa 3: The Rampage. It confirmed that the saga of Pushpa Raj continues. The anticipations of the third chapter will not be like any Indian movie has ever had with the astronomical figures Pushpa 2 has already set.
